Key responsibilities
- Curriculum and lesson planning: Design and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum for computer science and IT courses.
- Instruction: Teach a variety of topics, such as basic computer literacy, programming, networking, hardware, and software applications, using innovative methods and real-world examples.
- Student assessment: Monitor and assess student progress through tests, projects, and assignments, providing timely feedback and support.
- Technology integration: Utilize technology tools to enhance teaching and integrate them into the curriculum, staying current with new developments.
- Classroom and lab management: Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment, including managing the computer lab and ensuring hardware and software are functional.
- Communication: Communicate with parents about student progress and performance and collaborate with other teachers and staff.
- Professional development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated on educational trends and technological advancements.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required. A Master's degree is often preferred.
- Certification: A teaching certification or relevant teaching experience is usually required.
- Skills: Strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management skills, and the ability to integrate technology are essential.
