Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 8am to 5pm - NO WEEKENDS

Shooting Star Childcare is seeking a nurturing and energetic individual who is passionate about working with infants. We believe that even our youngest learners grow through responsive care, sensory experiences, and nurturing interactions. Our ideal candidate understands the importance of building strong, secure attachments with infants while supporting their physical, emotional, and cognitive development through play and exploration.

As an Infant Lead Teacher, you will create a warm and stimulating environment where babies can explore, feel safe, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment tailored to the needs of ages 2-3.
• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum that encourages sensory exploration, early communication, and motor development.
• Provide consistent care routines including feeding, diapering, and napping, following each child’s individual schedule and state regulations.
• Observe and respond to infants’ cues and needs with attentiveness and care.
• Maintain open, respectful, and cooperative communication with families and provide regular updates on their child’s growth and daily routines.
• Collaborate with fellow staff, Assistant Director, and Director on a regular basis to support a cohesive team environment.
• Maintain a positive and professional work environment.
• Meet all training, background check, and health requirements as outlined by the Department of Health and Human Services, and complete required annual training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 6 months of experience working in an infant classroom, childcare center, or similar setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of infant development and responsive caregiving practices.
• Ability to follow routines while remaining flexible to meet individual child needs.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• Day shift only
