Toddler Support Teacher

POSITION INFORMATION: Are you passionate about shaping young minds and excited to lead a dynamic classroom? From Roots to Wings Early Learning Center is looking for an enthusiastic teacher to join our team and lead our school-age classroom, serving children aged 1 to 2 years, or 2 to 3 years. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision of the Director and Assistant Director, the Toddler Support Teacher will have specific responsibilities that will include, but may not be limited to:

• Plan, create, and implement a dynamic daily program for toddler-age children.
• Plan and detail environments and lessons that reflect developmentally appropriate skills, concepts, and activities.
• Create a warm, engaged, and productive classroom environment for children and adults.
• Provide strong language models and many opportunities for children to develop language.
• Complete individual child developmental screenings and individual learning plans and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Involve parents in the classroom in meaningful ways which demonstrates the belief that parents are the principal influence on their child's education and development.
• Accurately complete assigned classroom records in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to attendance, meal counts, safety checklists, medication documentation, and other tracking forms.
• Ensure that confidentiality is kept for all child and family records and information.
• Ensure all required child observations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum requirements include at least 1 year of relevant experience. Additional expectations include:

• Ability to communicate effectively and relate sensitively to adults and children from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic groups.
• Proficiency in oral and written English language.
• Proficiency with computer software like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teaching Strategies Gold (not required but preferred)
• Ability to lead on your own and take initiative.
• Portable Background Check with MERIT.
