About this Job




The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral and psychiatric support needs.


We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking individual as a Trades Apprentice to assist in the daily operation of the duties of the Area Maintenance Department on the Pinecrest Supports and Services grounds.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:


  • Plumbing: Repair and install commodes, lavatories, water fountains, garbage disposals. Unstop sewer lines and drains, repair leaks, repair/replace faucets.
  • Electrical: Repair light bulbs. Repair/replace ballasts, receptacles, switches and fans. Replace motors, pumps, etc.
  • Appliance Repair: Repair washing machines, dryers, ice machines and refrigerators.
  • Carpentry: Repair doors, door closers, hinges, cabinet doors, knobs, baseboards, cabinets, furniture, door stops, windows, etc.
  • Refrigeration: Perform preventative maintenance and maintenance to a/c units and air handlers. Clean coils; work on pumps to air handlers and motors, chill water valves, controls, belts and filters.
  • Keep check on hot water temperatures and maintain log.
  • Run and service generators and maintain log. Inspects fire extinguishers monthly and maintains a log.

Location:
Pinecrest Supports and Services Center - Area Maintenance

Shift: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Pass Days: Sunday and Monday

4:00 pm - 12:00 am Pass Days: Saturday and Sunday

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Trades Apprentice, Maintenance Repairer 1, or Maintenance Repairer 2 depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Salary:
Trades Apprentice: $16.06 hourly - $28.90 hourly
Maintenance Repairer 1: $17.18 hourly - $30.92 hourly
Maintenance Repairer 2: $19.67 hourly - $35.40 hourly

Appointment Type:
This position may be filled by Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer or Detail to Special Duty. Preferences may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.
