Job Summary:
The Urban Planning Executive Director – Real Estate is responsible for leading the strategic planning, design, and development of large-scale real estate projects. This role ensures alignment with urban development regulations, sustainability standards, and business objectives, while overseeing master planning, land use strategies, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning & Leadership

Lead the development of long-term urban planning strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Oversee master planning initiatives for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Provide executive leadership to multidisciplinary planning and design teams.
2. Master Planning & Development

Direct land use planning, zoning, and spatial development strategies.

Ensure projects meet regulatory, environmental, and sustainability standards.

Review and approve master plans, urban designs, and infrastructure layouts.
3. Real Estate Integration

Align urban planning strategies with real estate investment objectives.

Support feasibility studies, market analysis, and project positioning.

Optimize land value and development potential across portfolios.
4. Stakeholder Management

Engage with government authorities, municipalities, and regulatory bodies.

Manage relationships with consultants, developers, and investors.

Represent the organization in high-level planning discussions and approvals.
5. Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with local urban planning laws, regulations, and codes.

Establish internal planning standards, policies, and procedures.

Monitor project risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
6. Sustainability & Innovation

Drive sustainable urban development practices (smart cities, green infrastructure).

7. Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop urban planning teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Real Estate Development, or related field.

15+ years of experience in urban planning or real estate development.

Minimum 5–7 years in a senior leadership or executive role.

Strong experience in large-scale master planning projects.
