Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance:-
- Ensure company adherence to U.S. transportation and logistics regulations including:
- DOT (Department of Transportation)
- FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration)
- TSA (Transportation Security Administration)
- OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)
- EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)
- CBP (Customs and Border Protection) for import/export compliance
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulatory changes.
- Oversee compliance for driver qualifications, hours of service (HOS), vehicle maintenance records, and drug & alcohol testing requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain required compliance documentation, permits, registrations, and licenses (e.g., DOT numbers, hazmat certifications).
- Prepare compliance reports for internal leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping for transportation manifests, Bill of Lading (BOL), customs forms, and warehouse documentation.
Internal Audits & Investigations
- Conduct internal audits of transportation, warehouse, and safety processes to identify compliance gaps.
- Investigate compliance violations and coordinate corrective action plans.
- Support regulatory inspections and communicate with government agencies during audits.
Training & Education
- Provide training to drivers, warehouse teams, and office staff on regulatory updates, safety rules, and internal compliance procedures.
- Develop materials and conduct refresher training on topics such as HAZMAT handling, OSHA safety standards, and cargo security requirements.
Risk Management & Process Improvement
- Identify compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Improve operational workflows to reduce compliance errors.
- Partner with operations, HR, safety, and fleet management teams to ensure consistent compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Compliance, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 1–5 years of compliance experience in U.S. logistics, transportation, supply chain, or freight.
- Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state transportation laws and safety regulations.
- Experience with compliance or fleet management systems (e.g., ELD platforms, safety management software).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
