Job Title: VA Nexus Letter Medical Consultant

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract / Part-Time / Potential for Full-Time

Description:

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate VA Nexus Letter Medical Consultant who are licensed in either Ohio or Pennsylvania to join our team. In this role, you will help veterans across the country by writing detailed, evidence-based nexus letters that clearly connect their current medical conditions to their military service—an essential part of the VA disability claims process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structured, one-on-one phone or video consultations with veterans to gather detailed information about their medical history, service-connected injuries, and current symptomatology.
  • Thoroughly review and interpret service treatment records, private medical records, VA records, diagnostic tests, and any other relevant documentation.
  • Draft clear, comprehensive, and medically sound nexus letters that establish the connection between a veteran’s condition(s) and their military service.
  • Ensure all documentation meets VA requirements and supports the veteran’s disability claim effectively.

Qualifications (Must have at least one of the following):

  • MD (Doctor of Medicine)
  • DO (Doctor of Osteopathy)
  • NP (Nurse Practitioner)
  • PA (Physician Assistant)
  • Must hold an active license in either Ohio or Pennsylvania

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills.
  • Strong understanding of VA disability claims, service connection types (direct, secondary, aggravated), and CFR guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to explain complex medical concepts clearly to non-medical audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases efficiently.
  • Strong desire to serve the veteran community.
  • No prior nexus letter or IMO (independent medical opinion) experience required- we provide full training to ensure consistency and adherence to our high documentation standards
