We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Veterinary Pharmacist to join our team.

About Role:

As a Veterinary Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our animal patients. You will work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and pet owners to provide pharmaceutical care, manage medication therapies, and educate clients.

Responsibilities:

- Medication Management/ Compounding, dispensing, and managing medications for animals, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs.

- Consultation / Providing advice to veterinarians, pet owners, and animal caretakers regarding the appropriate use of medications, dosages, and potential side effects.

- Drug Information / Staying informed about new drugs, formulations, and treatment protocols, and sharing this information with veterinary professionals.

- Safety Monitoring / Monitoring for adverse drug reactions and interactions, and advising on the safe use of medications in various animal species.

- Regulatory Compliance / Ensuring that all pharmaceutical practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including controlled substances regulations.

- Education and Training / Educating veterinary staff and clients on proper medication administration, storage, and handling procedures.

- Inventory Management / Managing the pharmacy inventory, including ordering, storing, and controlling medications to prevent shortages or expirations.

- Research and Development / Engaging in research to develop new veterinary drugs or improve existing formulations.

- Collaboration / Working closely with veterinarians and other animal health professionals to develop treatment plans and ensure optimal patient care.

- Public Health / Contributing to public health initiatives by ensuring the safe use of medications in food-producing animals and preventing drug residues in the food supply.

Our Veterinary pharmacists in AWAT are integral to the veterinary healthcare team in our pharmacies, ensuring that animals receive safe, effective, and appropriate medication therapies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of veterinary medicine

- Previous 5 years' experience in a veterinary pharmacy required. Gulf experience preferred

- Good experience in reproductive problems in camels, equines, cattle, and other animals.

- Experience in surgical operations & using ultrasound for various animals

- Resident in Oman is preferable

- Strong knowledge of veterinary pharmacology and medication management

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
