Vocal Music Teacher

Position Summary: As an ideal candidate for this role, you will work with both Middle and High School students instructing in various aspects of music, including but not limited to vocal techniques, music history, and performance skills. This teacher will guide students to explore and develop an appreciation of various music genres and activities which agree with the school district’s goals and objectives.

Reports To: Principal

Knowledge, Skills & Implementation:

• Equipped with musical aptitude, personal integrity
• Knowledge of music and music theory
• Displays strong organizational skills
• Effective communication with administration, staff, colleagues, students and parents
• Demonstrates strong technical skills, integrating technology in the classroom
• Attend professional development and meetings as requested
• Serve as a role model for our students and community
• The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the corporation.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal or other administrative staff as designated by the superintendent

Instructional Leadership:

• Develop and administer music curriculum consistent with school districts objectives and state standards
• Manage classroom with effective leadership
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Be positive and creative to encourage all students to participate and learn
• Invoke approved disciplinary procedures

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher with focus on music
• License Teacher
• Teaching experience preferred
