The Shipping Specialist is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and executing all outbound shipments of GMP and non-GMP materials – including temperature-sensitive, hazardous, and international shipments, in compliance with DOT, IATA, GMP and company requirements. This role ensures accurate documentation, safe handling of dangerous goods, and timely communication with internal teams and external partners to support reliable and compliant product distribution.

Prepare and process shipping documentation including bill of ladings, packing lists, dangerous goods, and export documentation

Ensure all shipments comply with DOT, IATA, and internal quality and safety standards

Properly package and label dangerous goods and temperature-sensitive materials per regulatory and customer requirements

Coordinate with internal/external customers and couriers to schedule pick-ups and ensure on-time delivery

Maintain accurate electronic and paper records, including ERP transactions for shipping, inventory movement, and reconciliation

Verify accuracy and quality of materials prior to shipment; escalate discrepancies as needed

Utilizes forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials in a safe and efficient manner

Responsible for safe working practices, routine warehouse maintenance/housekeeping and assuring the warehouse activity complies with all required safety, environmental, and GMP regulations

Support continuous improvement efforts within the shipping team

Assist the warehouse team as needed with inventory control and general warehouse housekeeping

High School Diploma and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be able to obtain Forklift certification. Training will be provided on site.
Must be able to obtain DOT/IATA certification. Training will be provided if not currently certified.

Must be able to work around hazardous solvents and chemicals and wear all required PPE. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
