As we expand, we’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Web Developer to join our team in Karachi. This role is critical to the development, optimization, and management of our e-commerce website, ensuring it provides an exceptional user experience and drives sales.

Role Overview:

As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and optimizing our e-commerce website, ensuring it is user-friendly, secure, and fully functional. You’ll manage the web server, collaborate closely with the E-Commerce Manager, Digital Marketing Specialist, and other teams to ensure the website is aligned with business objectives, delivering a seamless online shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Website Development & Maintenance:

• Design, develop, and maintain a high-performance e-commerce website on platforms like WooCommerce.
• Collaborate with the E-Commerce Manager and Design Team to implement user-friendly website layouts, features, and functionalities.
• Regularly update the website, including product updates, promotional banners, and content changes.

Web Server Management:

• Manage Web Server: Oversee the configuration, performance, and maintenance of the web server(s) hosting the e-commerce platform, ensuring uptime, performance, and security.
• Server Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize server performance, including page speed, load times, and server response times, to ensure a smooth user experience.
• Server Security: Ensure the web server and all related services (e.g., databases, APIs) are secure from external threats. Regularly apply security patches and updates to server software.
• Backups and Recovery: Set up and manage automated backups, ensuring that website data is securely backed up and can be restored in case of a failure.

Technical SEO:

• Implement on-page SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings, including optimizing metadata, URLs, and product pages.
• Conduct regular technical audits to identify and fix potential SEO issues.

User Experience (UX) Optimization:

• Work closely with the Design Team to create intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and responsive website designs that drive customer engagement.
• Optimize the website for mobile and tablet devices, ensuring a seamless experience across all platforms.
• Conduct A/B testing and user feedback analysis to continuously improve website performance and user experience.

Integration with Third-Party Tools:

• Integrate the website with third-party tools and systems, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, email marketing tools, payment gateways, and logistics platforms.
• Ensure the website is secure, with proper data protection measures in place for customer information and transactions.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

• Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Specialist to ensure the website supports marketing campaigns (e.g., landing pages, promotions).
• Work with the Logistics & Fulfillment Coordinator to ensure product availability and shipping integration are accurately reflected on the website.
• Provide technical support to the E-Commerce Manager and other teams as needed for website-related issues.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

• Monitor website performance using tools like Google Analytics and provide regular reports on traffic, bounce rates, conversion rates, and other KPIs.
• Continuously analyze website data to identify areas for improvement and optimize for better performance.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Web Developer or similar role, with a focus on e-commerce websites.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms like WooCommerce
• Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and experience implementing technical SEO.
• Experience managing web servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx, Litespeed) and web hosting environments (e.g., AWS, DigitalOcean, VPS).
• Familiarity with server monitoring tools and techniques (e.g., New Relic, Pingdom, GTmetrix).
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Knowledge of security protocols for web servers, SSL certificates, and data protection.
• Familiarity with server-side scripting languages (e.g., Node.js, Python) is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (preferred).
