About the role:
Polyaire is seeking a passionate Work Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Manager to join their expanding People and Culture team.
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by shaping and embedding a culture of safety and wellbeing across a respected national organisation. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will lead initiatives that promote physical, psychological, and social wellbeing across all levels of the business. You will bring expertise in creating supportive environments where employees feel safe, connected, and empowered.
In this role, you'll have the autonomy to provide expert advice on WHS matters while working collaboratively with senior leaders and site managers
What you'll do:
As Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager at Polyaire you will play a pivotal role in driving positive change throughout the organisation.
Further duties and responsibilities include:
- Drive a 'Safe, Healthy, Well' culture across all Polyaire sites by designing and delivering integrated wellbeing frameworks that address physical, mental, and social health.
- Develop and implement comprehensive wellbeing programmes, including mental health awareness campaigns, fitness challenges, nutrition workshops, and resilience building activities.
- Partner with HR to embed wellbeing into leadership development initiatives and employee engagement strategies.
- Act as an independent advisor to the Executive Team on WHS compliance matters and provide evidence based recommendations.
- Lead the implementation of annual wellbeing initiatives such as R U OK? Day, Mental Health Month, and Wellbeing Week in collaboration with EAP providers.
- Oversee the WHS Management System to ensure compliance with legislation across multi site operations; conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and report performance data to senior executives.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to a dedicated WHS Officer while ensuring accountability for deliverables.
- Build strong relationships with leaders, employees, and contractors; deliver tailored WHS training sessions and capability building programmes.
- Monitor and analyse WHS performance data to identify trends and inform strategic improvements.
With your proven experience in a similar Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing role, you will also bring:
- Minimum of five years' experience in WHS management or a senior advisory role within multi site operations.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, including ISO 45001 standards, with practical experience implementing these in dynamic environments.
- Proven ability to lead safety culture transformation projects and influence senior stakeholders towards positive outcomes.
- Expertise in audits, investigations, risk assessments, and driving continuous improvement through actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and mentor at all organisational levels.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail for accurate reporting and effective problem solving.
- Excellent organisational skills to balance strategic priorities with operational demands.
- Pragmatic approach to delivering solutions that meet both compliance requirements and business needs.
- Valid Australian driver's licence, with flexibility for national travel as required.
