Workday Security Analyst (Senior Workday HRIS Analyst)

Location: Raleigh, NC (Onsite 4 days/week)
Salary: $130,000–$140,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workday Security Analyst to manage, optimize, and maintain Workday security configurations across the organization. In this senior-level role, you will ensure data integrity, security compliance, and proper access governance while partnering closely with HR, IT, and business leaders. This position is ideal for someone with deep Workday security expertise and strong analytical and documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and optimize Workday security roles, groups, and access controls.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve security-related access issues for end users.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and business teams to deliver best-practice security solutions.
  • Support SOX audits and maintain compliance with access and change-management controls.
  • Document security configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.
  • Build security-related reports and dashboards.
  • Support HR initiatives and assist with new system implementations.
  • Conduct audits to ensure data integrity and perform security cleanup.
  • Stay current with Workday trends and recommend enhancements.
  • Participate in Workday migration, enhancement, and configuration projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in HR, HRIS, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday experience (HCM, Benefits, Security, Absence, Time Tracking, Reporting).
  • 3–5 years of Workday Security configuration experience (business process security, integration security).
  • 2+ years of reporting/data analysis experience (Report Writer, calculated fields, advanced Excel).
  • Strong background in role-based and user-based security models.
  • Experience with Authentication Policies, SSO, and MFA.
  • Experience with Workday EIB templates and advanced Excel.
  • Workday Security Certification preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and project management skills.
  • Consulting experience or client-facing work is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential data with discretion.
