An established and well-known Florida-based insurance company is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join its team as Staff Counsel. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Coral Gables, Florida.

The ideal candidate is a Florida-licensed attorney with 5–10 years of experience in insurance defense and workers’ compensation. The attorney will manage and defend high-exposure workers’ compensation claims and handle all aspects of litigation, including medical depositions, hearings, trials, and docket management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation matters from inception through trial or resolution.
  • Litigate cases to verdict, demonstrating strong trial capabilities and legal techniques.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other case-related documents.
  • Attend court proceedings, depositions, hearings, and related appointments independently.
  • Provide case evaluations, recommendations, and strategic analysis to department leadership.
  • Collaborate effectively with legal support staff.
  • Advise and provide training to claims partners and internal clients.
  • Create and maintain accurate software and case documentation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active, good-standing membership with the Florida Bar.
  • 5–10 years of experience in workers’ compensation law.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and discipline.
  • Demonstrated trial experience with proven litigation techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a paperless environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with a thorough understanding of Florida workers’ compensation law.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
