Job Vacancy – Zinc Electroplating Specialist
Location: Sharjah, UAE

We are hiring a Zinc Electroplating Specialist with strong hands-on experience to run the electroplating process and maintain consistent in-process quality. The role focuses on stable thickness results, strong adhesion, low defect rates, and clear daily documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and control the full zinc electroplating line: degreasing/cleaning, rinsing, pickling/activation, plating, final rinsing, passivation (if applicable), and drying.
  • Set and maintain bath/process parameters to ensure stability: current/voltage, current density, plating time, temperature, pH, chemical concentrations, agitation, filtration.
  • Ensure proper surface preparation and part readiness to prevent recurring defects.
  • Measure and control coating thickness (microns) and record inspection results for each batch.
  • Troubleshoot and eliminate defects (e.g., burning, thickness variation, peeling, roughness, stains, unplated areas) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Maintain daily process logs and quick quality reports: operating parameters, thickness readings, defect rate, rejection reasons, rework tracking.
  • Train technicians/operators on best practices (especially rinsing discipline, racking/hanging methods, and surface preparation).
  • Follow strict safety and chemical handling practices, ensuring proper PPE and ventilation requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with production and quality teams to meet customer specifications and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience in Zinc Electroplating (Electroplating) and managing plating baths.
  • Strong knowledge of bath chemistry and control methods: pH, concentration control, temperature control, filtration, agitation, anodes/cathodes.
  • Experience in inspection and quality control: thickness measurement, visual checks, adhesion evaluation, clear acceptance/rejection decisions.
  • Ability to identify root causes and reduce defects and rework.
  • Strong daily documentation discipline and process monitoring habits.
  • High commitment to safety in handling acids and chemicals.
  • Preference for candidates experienced with SOP-based manufacturing environments and in-process quality control.

Skills

  • Practical, fast problem-solving on the shop floor.
  • Ability to lead and train the team through process control (without an “Manager” job title).
  • Strong attention to detail, consistency, and reporting.
