Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Internal Auditor

Location: Manama, Bahrain

Experience: 0-4 Years

Role Summary: An Assistant Internal Auditor is responsible for assisting in the examination and evaluation of an organization's financial and information systems, management procedures, and internal controls to ensure that records are accurate and controls are adequate.
 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
 

Qualification Summary: The ideal candidate should have a fair knowledge of accounting policies and effective communication skills. They should also be proficient in financial analysis, risk management, and auditing.
 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Assist in planning and executing audits.
  • Analyze financial data.
  • Identify fraudulent activities.
  • Suggest improvements for efficiency and risk management.
  • To assist the Group Internal Audit Manager and  Divisional Internal Auditor to carry out internal audit and system reviews primarily of Zayani Properties, and for other Divisions as my be required by the Group GIAM.
  • To ensure an acceptable standard of Quality Management System is maintained in accordance with recognized working practice and the company’s Quality Manual and Policy.
  • To submit draft report on audit assignments, highlighting the weakness in internal control along with recommendation for improvements as well as cost reduction and / or control.
  • To continually audit and review whether the various accounting policies and control procedure existing in the group are being observed regularly, and critically report on the observance of these set of policies and procedures.
  • To follow up and report on the implementation of agreed recommendations.
  • On a regular basis, to carry out surprise physical verification of stock & cash and submit report of such preventive action as and when required.
  • To assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly management report for (and other related reports) and specially to analyze in depth expenses heads and/or activities reflecting abnormal/ negative variance.
  • To extract any management information, as may be required by the Group Internal Audit Manager / Divisional Internal Auditor.
  • To carry out any other assignments or special investigations as required by the Group Internal Audit Manager / ISO Coordinator.
  • On a day to day basis, to perform all other jobs assigned to by Divisional Internal Auditor.
  • Pre-audit of payment Gosi and Health Care.
  • Pre-audit of payroll, overtime payment, leave settlement.
  • Pre-audit of payment vouchers, primarily of Zayani Properties.
  • To perform an addition to the above, the function handled by other staff of audit during their absence or leave within Zayani Properties or otherwise.
  • Responsible for filing Audit working papers, and other important documents and oversee its orderliness.
  • Participate in the development of Audit procedures and work plan.
  • Will keep abreast of Company Policies and Internal Audit Policies and making sure its applied during the conduct of work.
  • Other tasks as required by the MD / DMD / Group Internal Manager / ISO coordinator / Divisional Internal Auditors. 
     

Skills Required: Financial analysis, risk management, auditing, knowledge of accounting policies, effective communication skills.
 

Nice to Have: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification.
