Ali H. Harmouch received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering (with distinction) from Moscow Technical University of Telecommunication and Informatics (MTUCI), Moscow, Russia, 1998. He was selected among foreign graduates to be the winner of the university annual scholarship for continuing PhD studies at the same institution. At the same time, the thesis was also supported financially by a Saudi scholarship mainly from Taiba Association. In 2001 he accomplished his PhD thesis and obtained two patents during the doctoral period. From 1995 to 2001 he was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Antennas and Electrodynamics Laboratory (MTUCI), where he worked on modeling and testing of different antennas for monitoring radio spectrum and mainly miniaturized antenna systems for wireless mobile applications. From 1999 till 2001 he was appointed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Antenna's Department at MTUCI where he taught laboratory courses and supervised some Master projects. In 2001 he joined Belize University (In the Caribbean) as a teaching assistant as well as English language student. In 2004, He has joined Balamand University and Notre Dame University in Lebanon as an assistant professor. In 2008 he has joined the Lebanese University, Faculty of Engineering, First Branch, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2009. He has been an active member in the LASTER research group at the doctoral school of the Lebanese University for about four years. His current research interests include the use of numerical methods in electromagnetics to model antennas for mobile communications; invent new antenna models useful for aerospace technologies, missile technologies and also for oil drilling devices. In 1998, he was awarded The Trophy of Culture by the Minister of Higher education, and also by various Lebanese associations for his continuous innovations. Dr. Ahmed earned his PhD in Gifted and Creative Education from the University of Georgia in 2016. He also earned a professional certificate in Leadership Development from Harvard Kennedy School of Executive Education, Harvard University, and a professional certificate in Leading and Building a Culture of Innovation from Harvard Business School, Harvard University. Dr. Ahmed is the Director and co-founder of the Medical Students Gifted and Talented Program at the Arabian Gulf University. His research interests include creativity, giftedness, divergent thinking, problem finding, and emotional intelligence. Biochemist/ Protein Engineer A scientist with a strong background in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Structural Bioinformatics, Dr. Ben Khalaf is an Associate Professor at the Life Sciences Department of the College of Graduate Studies at the Arabian Gulf University. He has over 15 years of research and development experience in translational research and health biotechnology. He worked since 2004 as an R&D engineer in the Institute Pasteur of Tunis. Then in 2009 as an associated Scientist at the University of California in San Francisco, in the Center for Discovery and Innovation in Parasitic Diseases (CDIPD) and Small Molecules Discovery Center (SMDC). After completing his Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2012 from Institute Pasteur, he started a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Molecular Medicine Department of the College of Medicine at The Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain. Dr. Ben Khalaf has published more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals and supervised several M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses. He is actually involved in several research projects covering different aspects of translational research and therapeutic discovery using in silico and molecular approaches and genetically engineered animal models.
