Padmalatha, an alumnus of the IIM – Ahmedabad, has about three decades of industry experience, primarily in Banking. Most of her banking experience was at senior levels in the credit and corporate planning areas in key positions. She has been a commentator on Banking in general and Infrastructure finance in particular. I am a Professor of Physics, at IIT Madras. I have been at IIT Madras from 1999. I was with IIT Palakkad since its inception in 2015 to October 2022, first as its Profesor in charge and then as its founding Director. My research interests are in the area of Soft Matter Physics and Biological Physics. I use computing as main tool for my research.

Jerusalem College of Engineering, Chennai (2001 – 2018):(17 years) I worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer science. The splitting of the Computer science branch into three departments was initiated. During this period I worked as Head of the Department of Information Technology. I was in lead role to have proposed the concepts, configuration and design specifications & plans of developing the full fledged labs, which also includes the Linux and Windows NT based servers. From 2004 to 2008 I was in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering Technical Team, deputed to this department as Asst Professor during the NBA visit to the college. The activities involved are class committee chairman, Project Review committee member for both UG and PG over a period of 5 years. From 2008 to 2012, As Sr Asst professor for the Department , I was responsible for the purchase, development, installation & commissioning of Optical Communication Laboratory. I was also responsible for the realization of Computer Networks Laboratory enabling the students to get exposed to various networking software’s. From 2012 to 2018 worked as a Professor in the ECE department.
