While working for WiFi Display or as popularly called Miracast (1.0, 2.0 , 3.0), I have worked on across layers starting from the interface layer to send / receive the Wireless data, Mux / Demux of data, Encode / decode of the video/audio content and to its capture / presentation on the device screen or audio device. I was instrumental in design/development of Source and Sink stacks including configuration of the P2P interface, setting up wireless connection between Source / Sink with capability negotiation using RTSP message transfers, and preparing the path for data transfer with Source device sending the encoded content (video / audio) in a Mux form to sink device and then Sink device DeMuxing it to decode and present it over screen or at speaker.This needed a proper AV synchronization on Sink along with high Glass to Glass latency. I was even instrumental in implementing Direct Streaming protocol in Miracast with subtitle data, where the data is already available in encoded format and it needs to be sent to Sink device without doing a transcoding at Source device. This required a proper capability negotiation based on the encoded stream parameters and designing a mechanism to send data which will have I / P / B frames and designing proper AV synchronization as well. An all the above had to be done in a Secure Session, which require interaction with HDCP module for the Session establishment , encryption and decryption.
