Job Description

General Summary:

  • Oversee all functions of the golf department (operations, membership, retail, driving range)
  • Align with Golf Saudi management principles and objectives
  • Innovative and results-driven mind set
  • High expectations for analysis and reporting
  • Expected to take on a number of special projects, including non-golf projects
  • Recruit and develop KSA national talents

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategy

  • Create annual and long term (departmental) business plans
  • Deliver progressive YOY growth across all revenue lines
  • Evolve utilization & rate (membership & green fee) with business and market performance
  • Clearly deliver on the business units market position (3, 4 or 5 star)
  • Create and deliver on a content creation plan
  • Recruit and develop KSA nationals
  • Create strategies that support Mass Participial and the SGF

Planning:

  • Create annual business plans and budgets
  • Full autonomy and accountability for managing recruitment within budget
  • Full autonomy and accountability for inventory and operating supply / expense management
  • Creation and deliver of a 5-year capital expenditure plan
  • To have, train and continuously improve ALL departmental SOP’s
  • To understand asset maintenance and deliver on clearly defined maintenance programs
  • To deliver a month end owner report, in the respective timeframes
  • To study the local market, regional market, and global market – and to provide innovative proposals
  • To understand L&D needs to and to in synergy with HR to deliver on annual L&D programs
  • To under retail buying to and align to pre-book schedules

Policies & Procedures

  • Develop and continuously evolve all departmental SOP’s
  • To align with G.S SOP’s
  • To create SOP’s as and when required
  • To train all SOP’s
  • To provide evidence of training

Functional Operations

  • Delivers month end owner reports
  • Provides daily business reporting
  • Delivers on exceptional tee sheet management
  • Provides exceptional leadership and workplace culture
  • Ensures discipline and compliance
  • Supports S&M with all forms of content creation and activity
  • Uphold and also improve all forms of policy (e.g, member charter)
  • To work outside of golf and support G.S with special projects (VIP requirement)
  • To lead all forms of retail
  • To deliver member events and tournaments (including using Golf Genius, creation of BEO’s – etc). Expected to develop KSA Nationals with tournament management
  • Delivers extensive L&D
  • Manages all respective departmental assets (e.g., carts)

Reports (examples, but not limited to)

  • Month end owner report
  • Daily financial / performance report
  • Week CEO report
  • Asset maintenance program

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance performance and quality of work in line with stakeholders and management expectation.
  • Implement best practice initiative to promote consistent improvement and development with department.

Key Performance Indicators (not limited to)

  • Revenue vs budget
  • Departmental EBITDA vs budget
  • Annual Employee Satisfaction Survey results show continuous improvement.
  • Guest Satisfaction Survey shows continuous improvement.
  • Saudi participation levels increase annually (both staff and member / guest)
  • Accomplishment of milestones and targets detailed in departmental business plan.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PGA, College, University OR higher education qualification.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 3 years in golf management at internationally recognized facilities.
  • Experience supervising and managing professional team.
  • Regional experience preferred.
  • Experience in renovation/restructuring of golf club would be beneficial.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • High level of leadership, communication, presentation and reporting skills.
  • Innovative, proactive, positive, driven
  • Advanced knowledge of creating and implanting golf management programs and initiatives for enhancement/revenue creation.
  • Commitment to continuous education; seminars, workshops, trade shows, etc.
  • Capability to represent the organization at an international level.
  • Essential computer skills.
  • Fluent in English, Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
  • Open minded (managing change, adapting, evolving).
