Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Legal Counsel:
Provide expert legal advice on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, and governance.- Develop and implement strategies for complex legal transactions and ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage a team of legal professionals, fostering an environment of high performance and continuous learning and development.- Oversee the work of junior lawyers and support the senior management team, ensuring high-quality legal services are delivered to clients.
- Exhibit a forward-looking perspective, anticipating future legal and business challenges and addressing them proactively.
- Encourage and lead innovative thinking among team members to support the firm’s growth and strategic objectives.
- Make sound decisions under pressure, balancing the need for thoroughness with decisiveness.
- Apply a pragmatic and analytical approach to problem-solving, with a keen ability to distill complex legal issues into actionable advice.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored legal solutions.- Negotiate, draft, and review complex legal documents and contracts to protect the interests of clients.
Business Development:
Directly contribute to the growth of the firm by identifying new business opportunities and participating in networking events.- Collaborate with other departments to develop cross-functional initiatives that enhance the firm's service offerings.
Risk Management:
Identify potential legal risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the firm and its clients.- Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations in Qatar that may impact the firm's practice areas and advise on necessary actions.
- Communicate complex legal concepts and risks in a clear and persuasive manner to all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
A law degree from a recognized university and admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.- A minimum of 6-8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on
- Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment in the Middle East in general, and more specifically in Doha.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Demonstrated track record of business development and client relationship management.
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in Arabic considered an asset.
