Job Description & Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager with a strong background in Corporate and Commercial Law and Mergers and Acquisitions to join our legal team in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6-8 years of post-qualification experience, with a proven track record of success in a similar role. This position requires a deep understanding of the legal landscape in Doha and the ability to provide strategic legal advice to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Legal Counsel:

  • Provide expert legal advice on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, and governance.
  • Develop and implement strategies for complex legal transactions and ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations.

  • Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of legal professionals, fostering an environment of high performance and continuous learning and development.
  • Oversee the work of junior lawyers and support the senior management team, ensuring high-quality legal services are delivered to clients.
  • Exhibit a forward-looking perspective, anticipating future legal and business challenges and addressing them proactively.
  • Encourage and lead innovative thinking among team members to support the firm’s growth and strategic objectives.
  • Make sound decisions under pressure, balancing the need for thoroughness with decisiveness.
  • Apply a pragmatic and analytical approach to problem-solving, with a keen ability to distill complex legal issues into actionable advice.

  • Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored legal solutions.
  • Negotiate, draft, and review complex legal documents and contracts to protect the interests of clients.

  • Business Development:

  • Directly contribute to the growth of the firm by identifying new business opportunities and participating in networking events.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop cross-functional initiatives that enhance the firm's service offerings.

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify potential legal risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the firm and its clients.
  • Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations in Qatar that may impact the firm's practice areas and advise on necessary actions.
  • Communicate complex legal concepts and risks in a clear and persuasive manner to all stakeholders.

Qualifications:


  • A law degree from a recognized university and admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on
mergers and acquisitions in a reputable international law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment in the Middle East in general, and more specifically in Doha.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Demonstrated track record of business development and client relationship management.
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in Arabic considered an asset.
