- Develops and implements strategic plans for Finance Department in line with the organizational objectives.
- Reviews the financial performance of the Finance Department against budgets to identify and capitalize on potential areas for cost reduction and performance improvement opportunities.
- Monitors the deployment of work processes in Finance Department in order to achieve high performance standards, continuous improvement and compliance with organizational policies, procedures and standards.
- Participates in the development of the workforce plan for the Finance Department by providing inputs based on workload analysis and forecasting trends.
- Participates in the implementation of Otis's vision, mission and cultural values across all employee groups in the Finance Department.
- Manages the implementation of approved Finance Department policies, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost-effective services.
Core Responsibilities:
- Acts as a strategic financial partner to the General Manager on the financial positioning of Otis Kuwait, highlighting strategic plans, financial budgeting, cash flow, accounting and policy matters.
- Monitors, interprets and challenges financial results and communicate issues, risks, opportunities and trends, and performance outlook to the management on a timely basis.
- Leads the annual budgeting process for Otis Kuwait and its functions in order to ensure that budgeting requirements are aligned to the strategic goals and objective of the organization.
- Monitors the overall financial performance including anticipated costs / revenues, excesses / deficits, areas of unsatisfactory performance and potential performance improvement opportunities to identify risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensures efficient and effective management of Otis Kuwait finances through all necessary financial controls, systems and processes, and ensures accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records.
- Liaises with internal and external auditors and ensures that they are provided close cooperation and assistance in the discharge of their responsibilities, including all Otis Kuwait’s financial statements and reports.
- Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting including the coordination and completeness of annual audit reviews, and ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
- Advices management on any changes in legislation or regulations that may affect Otis Kuwait’s business operation
- Work with the senior management team to set the pricing strategy ensuring cost rates calculated provide full recovery to the business area, and profitable projects are sold
People Management
- Develops a continuous talent pipeline for key roles in the Finance Department and provides mentoring for high potential talent in the team.
- Monitors and enables the achievement of goals and key performance indicators for direct reports and ensures effective implementation of the performance management process in the department.
- Develops talent within the department by providing guidance, ongoing feedback, coaching and development opportunities to individuals to enable achievement of the defined goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
- Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting is preferred
Professional Certifications
Relevant certification such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred
Years of Experience
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in managing financial operations in a construction/engineering organization
Nature of Experience
At least 8 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
Language Skills
Fluent written and spoken English essential
