Job Description

Job Title: Logistics Assistant

Reports to: Logistics Manager

Job Summary: The Logistics Assistant is responsible for supporting the logistics team in coordinating the movement of goods and materials within the company’s supply chain. This role involves assisting with the scheduling of shipments, maintaining inventory records, managing transportation logistics, and ensuring the timely delivery of products to customers. The Logistics Assistant plays a key role in optimizing logistics operations and ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipment Coordination:

  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Work closely with vendors, carriers, and customers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Track shipments and update the relevant parties on delivery statuses.

Inventory Management:

  • Support inventory control by updating and maintaining accurate records of stock levels.
  • Monitor stock movements and assist with cycle counts and stock audits.
  • Report inventory discrepancies and assist with resolving issues.

Documentation and Data Entry:

  • Prepare and maintain shipping and logistics documentation such as bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs documentation.
  • Ensure all necessary records are accurate and filed appropriately for future reference.
  • Enter data into the logistics management system and generate reports as required.

Supply Chain Support:

  • Assist the logistics team in managing the flow of materials and products throughout the supply chain.
  • Help ensure that all logistics processes comply with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as procurement, warehousing, and sales to support logistical needs.

Customer Service and Communication:

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipping and delivery status.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns or issues related to logistics operations.
  • Communicate any delays or issues with shipments in a timely and clear manner.

Vendor and Carrier Liaison:

  • Coordinate with vendors, third-party logistics providers, and freight carriers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with suppliers and carriers to maintain cost-effective services.

General Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the logistics department by preparing reports, filing documents, and assisting with scheduling.
  • Assist in resolving logistical issues and finding ways to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes.
  • Familiarity with logistics software or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Jebel Ali: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

  • Logistics: 2 years (Preferred)
