Job Title: BIM Specialist/Coordinator

Overview

The BIM Meddler ensures smooth integration, implementation, and optimization of BIM processes across all project stages. This role involves troubleshooting, standardizing workflows, training team members, and ensuring compliance with project-specific BIM requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• BIM Coordination
• Oversee coordination between various project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Ensure clash detection and resolution using BIM tools.
• Maintain federated models for consistency and accuracy.
• Technical Expertise
• Manage BIM software and tools, such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
• Provide support for troubleshooting technical issues related to BIM processes.
• Stay updated with BIM industry trends and recommend new technologies or workflows.
• Standards and Compliance
• Develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards and workflows within the organization.
• Ensure projects adhere to client-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and Level of Development (LOD) requirements.
• Training and Mentorship
• Train and mentor team members in BIM tools, standards, and best practices.
• Conduct workshops and provide on-demand technical support.
• Project Management
• Review and validate BIM deliverables, including 3D models, schedules, and data exports.
• Coordinate with project teams to align BIM deliverables with project goals and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency in BIM tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Dynamo, or similar platforms.
• Experience with clash detection, model federation, and collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360 or similar).
• Familiarity with industry standards like ISO 19650 or COBie.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

• Programming knowledge (Python, Dynamo scripting) for automation and customization of BIM workflows.
• Experience in virtual design and construction (VDC) or digital twins.
• Knowledge of sustainability and energy modeling using BIM.
