Job Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Doctor to provide healthcare services to workers at a labour camp. The Doctor will be responsible for providing medical care, managing occupational health issues, conducting routine health checks, and ensuring that workers maintain a healthy environment. This role requires a proactive approach to healthcare and a strong commitment to worker well-being, safety, and preventive care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Care & Treatment:
  • Provide immediate and emergency medical care to workers, including diagnosing and treating common illnesses, injuries, and occupational health-related conditions.
  • Offer ongoing healthcare services, such as routine check-ups, physical examinations, and vaccinations to ensure the overall well-being of workers.
  • Health Monitoring:
  • Conduct regular health screenings and assessments for workers, focusing on common occupational health risks.
  • Monitor the health and hygiene conditions within the labour camp, identifying any potential public health risks and implementing preventive measures.
  • Preventive Health Programs:
  • Develop and implement health promotion and preventive care programs, including disease prevention, first-aid training, and promoting hygiene and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Conduct awareness campaigns to educate workers on topics such as sanitation, nutrition, mental health, and the prevention of workplace accidents.
  • Occupational Health & Safety:
  • Identify and assess workplace health hazards, including the effects of long-term exposure to hazardous materials or physical stress.
  • Provide health advice related to the prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses, and assist in managing any work-related health claims.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate medical records for all workers, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on health issues and health statistics to management, suggesting improvements or interventions where necessary.
  • Emergency Response:
  • Be available to provide emergency medical treatment in the event of accidents or medical emergencies within the camp.
  • Coordinate with external medical facilities or emergency services for urgent medical referrals when required.
  • Collaboration & Coordination:
  • Work closely with camp management and safety officers to ensure that health and safety regulations are met.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses or specialists, when needed, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Mental Health Support:
  • Provide initial mental health support to workers, identifying any psychological or stress-related issues and referring them to appropriate counselors or mental health professionals if necessary.
  • Promote a supportive environment for mental well-being and reduce stigma associated with seeking help for mental health issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited medical school.
  • QCHP License or Prometric with Data Flow
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience, preferably in an industrial, occupational health, or labour camp setting.
  • Experience in handling common illnesses, injuries, and occupational health-related conditions is desirable.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of general medicine, emergency care, and occupational health.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations with a calm and efficient approach.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with workers from diverse backgrounds and provide clear medical advice.
  • Ability to educate and raise awareness about health issues within the labour camp.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a potentially challenging environment.
  • Certifications (Optional):
  • Advanced First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Occupational Health certification or training (desirable).

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time role with working hours [insert schedule if applicable].
  • Based within the labour camp environment with occasional visits to external medical facilities for specialized care.
  • Exposure to outdoor and industrial environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR10,000.00 - QAR15,000.00 per month
