Job Description Summary
An exciting prospect for you to join our IT Change Management Team where you will act as co-ordinator raising and taking control of IT Change Requests on behalf of requesters carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on building infrastructure/plant. About us
We are a small, close-knit team with a can-do attitude and wherever possible, we help and assist our internal and external contacts.
Our prime function is to carry out IT Change Management to protect the IT and the Business of the Bank.
The Team acts as an interface between Property and IT, ensuring that physical works at any Bank premises are clearly and accurately assessed for their actual or potential impact on the Bank’s IT systems and/or Business. We then present this information for approval of the works. As such we are required to understand the scope and extent of physical infrastructure (power, cooling, fire detection Etc.) works and be able to translate this into meaningful text to allow IT and business staff to clearly understand the works.
We build and nurture essential relationships throughout many areas of the Bank and can understand and support our assessment of any risks if challenged.
Day To Day
- Co-ordinate and deliver complex and high risk/impact IT Change Requests using the Bank’s end-to-end Change process.
- Focus on minimizing any adverse effects due to building infrastructure works
- Collaborate closely with other key stakeholders to ensure Change Requests accurately reflect the actual or potential risk to the business.
- Identify and mitigate the risk to business and IT environments, to ensure Change success and high levels of service availability.
- Continually monitor status of Change Requests to identify any potential issues, which may cause delays and subsequent failure of Change.
- Take part in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to communicate and justify the timings and extents of infrastructure works and to move changes forward.
- Act as SME for more complex and higher risk/impact Changes
· Peer review Changes raised by the Team. · Define and measure success metrics.
- Develop and update the Team IT Change plans.
What you’ll need
- A good understanding and sound knowledge of building services installations.
- A good understanding and sound knowledge of IT equipment, technologies and infrastructures.
- Good PC skills, with ability to use Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook etc).
- Proven organisational skills.
- Good time management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A talent for juggling multiple priorities, demonstrating your ability to collaborate, influence, and improve our ways of working.
- Business awareness and strong communication skills to work effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical colleagues, sometimes at a senior level.
- Ability to take initiative, be bold and proactive in owning your work.
- Ability to explain complex issues in a compelling way to drive action
And any experience of the following would be really useful
- Experience of MS Access, ServiceNow.
- Experience working in IT Change Management.
- Experience of IT Service Management
