As an Electrical Draftsman, you will play a key role in producing accurate electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts for various projects. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all designs meet technical specifications and comply with industry standards. The role will primarily involve reviewing drawings, extracting take-off lengths of lighting fixtures, preparing schematics in AutoCAD, and assisting in BOQ preparation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

➢ Create Detailed Drawings: Produce accurate electrical and lighting drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD or similar software.
➢ Interpret Specifications: Translate engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations into precise drafts.
➢ Prepare BOQs: Develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) from drawings to support project planning and execution.
➢ Perform Take-Offs: Conduct material take-offs to estimate quantities and costs for electrical and lighting components.
➢ Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with engineers and project teams to incorporate design changes, updates, and feedback.
➢ Organize Documentation: Maintain and organize drawing files, BOQs, and other documentation for easy access and reference.

Skills Required:

Technical Skills:

➢ Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
➢ Familiarity with electrical symbols, components, and systems.
➢ Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
➢ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
➢ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
➢ Review AutoCAD drawings and extract take-off lengths of lighting fixtures.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

➢ Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field is a plus.
