A paralegal’s job purpose is to support Associates, Senior Associates and Partners in handling cases and preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings. A Paralegal performs administrative and clerical tasks as well as legal research, maintains case files and drafts legal documents.
Responsibilities are as follows:
- Expected to assist associates of all levels on research of laws and judgments
- Perform legal research, checking facts, gathering client information and evidence and completing paperwork
- Assist associates of all levels with drafting formal legal documents, such as contracts and pleadings, as well as correspondence with clients and other parties
- Expected to prepare standard legal documents for matters as and when requested
- Keeps client files organised and up to date in paper and/or electronic format
- Expected to assist the Head of Department/Partner in monitoring and coordinating work between associates by preparing client consolidation reports
- Responsible to liaise and finalize with marketing on new laws and regulation articles to be published in ‘Law Update’
- Translation of documents from Arabic to English and vice versa
- Informing clients on court hearing updates
- Assisting in PoA processes, Engagement letters and other various admin duties.
Qualifications :
- A law degree or similar paralegal qualifications
