
Title: President
Reports To: Executive Chairman
Location: Flexible with travel to Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO), Tajikistan, United States and other operational regions.
Strategic Leadership
● Develop and implement long-term strategies aligned with MEI’s mission and goals.
● Lead the organization’s vision for sustainable growth, including expansion into cross-border markets in Central Asia.
● Identify and drive innovative opportunities for product and market development.
Operational Management
● Oversee all aspects of MEI and MFP’s operations, including production, supply chain, finance, and HR.
● Ensure operational efficiency and alignment with MEI’s mission to empower local communities.
● Work closely with the General Director and the local team in GBAO to integrate sustainable practices and community involvement.
Stakeholder Engagement
● Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders of MEI, and of MFP including local farmers, government agencies, investors, grant agencies and international partners.
● Act as the spokesperson for MEI, representing the organization’s values and mission to external audiences.
Financial Stewardship
● Manage MEI’s financial performance, ensuring sustainability and growth.
● Oversee fundraising efforts, including securing investments and donor funding.
● Collaborate with the Board to develop budgets, track financial performance, and ensure compliance.
Team Leadership
● Build and lead a high-performing team capable of delivering on MEI’s goals.
● Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.
● Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
Key Qualifications:Required:
● Proven executive leadership experience, preferably in social enterprises, agribusiness, or emerging markets.
● Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of driving business growth in challenging environments.True leadership qualities: ability to engage stakeholders, think broadly and creatively, and balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution.
● Strong expertise in strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership.
● Demonstrated ability to navigate complex challenges in developing countries.
● Ability to work effectively with the Executive Chairman and align with the values and mission of MEI and MFP.
Preferred:
● Experience working in Central or South Asia, particularly in Tajikistan or Pakistan.
● Advanced degree in Business Administration, International Development, or a related field.
● Proficiency in local languages or familiarity with the cultural, social, and economic dynamics of GBAO.
