Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chargehand - Traffic to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Chargehand - Traffic, you will be responsible for overseeing traffic management operations, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and leading a team of traffic control personnel.
- Supervise and coordinate traffic control teams on various projects throughout Abu Dhabi
- Implement and maintain traffic management plans in accordance with local regulations and safety standards
- Conduct daily briefings and assign tasks to team members
- Monitor traffic flow and make real-time adjustments to ensure smooth operations
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and local authorities to coordinate traffic management activities
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and equipment usage
- Respond promptly to emergencies or unexpected traffic situations
- Train and mentor new team members on traffic control procedures and safety protocols
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in traffic management or a related field
- Proven experience in supervising traffic control teams
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Traffic Control Certification (e.g., MUTCD certification)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- In-depth knowledge of traffic management systems and safety protocols
- Familiarity with Abu Dhabi's road network and traffic patterns
- Strong understanding of local traffic laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and team management experience
- Proficiency in scheduling and coordination of resources
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
