Job Description
We are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Economics group of the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in Economics. The appointment will begin September 1, 2025, subject to final budget approval. Appointment will be for three academic years.
The post-doctoral associate will allocate 50 percent of their time to independent research and the other 50 percent to collaborative projects with Professors Jean Imbs and Laurent Pauwels. The collaborative research will be in the field of international macroeconomics and trade. We want to utilize data on global supply chains to analyze their effects on macroeconomic outcomes, explore their interactions with geopolitical factors, and estimate deep preference and technology parameters using the cross-country and cross-sector dimensions of the data.
We are looking for a candidate specializing in international macroeconomics and trade, with strong knowledge of trade models featuring rich input-output linkages. The ideal candidate should have practical experience and proficiency in handling large datasets and coding sophisticated simulations and estimations.
The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would join a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science.
