The Senior Technical Content Analyst produces technical content for our tax software products. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that tax and regulatory fees content is up to date, accurate and implemented correctly within the software. Individuals will specialize on business areas such as transaction tax, personal property tax, or any new content areas we may expand into.
Duties and Responsibilities:
People:
  • Create a positive team member experience.
Client:
  • Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
  • Respond to customer rate content issues.
  • Own our tax and regulatory fees rates content area. Responsible for all aspects of this product area as it relates to creating and delivering rate content.
  • Perform research and analysis of the content of new product and service areas.
  • Maintain jurisdiction contact information.
  • Monitor changes in rates, forms, depreciation schedules, and filing regulations and other aspects of tax policy.
  • Develop content into deliverables based on requirements in accordance with company standards and goals for content management.
  • Provide domain expertise in one or more areas of specialization:
Transaction Tax – Calculation
  • Maintaining taxability matrices by keeping up with law changes and timely implement such changes.
Transaction Tax – Rates
  • Maintaining transaction tax rate and jurisdiction content by keeping up with law changes and timely implement such changes.
Transaction Tax – Compliance
  • Maintaining transaction tax compliance and form content by keeping up with law changes and timely implement such changes.
Property Tax - Compliance
  • Maintaining property tax compliance and form content by keeping up with law changes and timely implement such changes.
  • Asset class mapping verification, including complex property types and industry specific reporting details.
  • Advance analysis and application of various tax code rules to software logic and form development.
  • Review formatted Property Tax Returns for software capability, form testing, form creation in property tax compliance software.

Provide application expertise for software related to domain expertise:
  • Test software functionality per tax rate, form and e-file content test plans.
  • Develop tax rate content test plans.
  • Analyze test cases for compliance testing of rate software.
Other duties as assigned:
  • Lead or participate in other projects or duties as assigned.
  • Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with aggressive schedules.
  • Handles calls to Tax Jurisdictions and offshore/onshore staff.
  • Completes tasks assigned by Management with a sense of urgency and confidentiality where needed.
A minimum of five years equivalent industry experience. An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in area related, but not limited, to Accounting, Finance, Information Systems Development, Business Administration, Content Management or six years equivalent industry experience. Experience with tax software a plus.
Skills:
  • Strong domain knowledge of assigned tax area.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine scope, topics, and requirements for content development projects.
  • Research skills using tax research tools and navigating the internet.
  • Strong aptitude for detailed information.
  • Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation and facilitation) skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
  • Ability to work well in a virtual environment.
Computer Skills:
Experience maintaining of relational databases desirable.
Standard Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access would be beneficial but not required.
Certificates and Licenses:
Preference for Sales and Use Tax industry specific training and certifications such as Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but may assign tasks to junior team members at Manager’s discretion.
