Job Description

Role Purpose

The Buyer Intern is responsible for the procurement of non-merchandise commodities and services for the operation based on best practices stipulated by the company’s policies and procedures


Key Responsibilities


  • Place weekly orders with suppliers in compliance with companies’ internal policies
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding the products' price, availability, delivery and quality
  • Coordinate the transfer of merchandise by monitoring the reception of products and the dispatch to stores, and check discrepancies with concerned suppliers –
  • Prepare stock and sales reports to concerned departments and suppliers
  • Collect price information and request orders to Cataloging Department in order to create a portfolio of new suppliers or products on the system
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Department regarding quarterly catalogue and new products launching
  • Communicate with vendors and other product representatives
  • Specific for Music, Video, Books, Daxar: Keep abreast of market trends and new products, suggest the update of items on continuous basis and the procurement of new ones
  • Specific for Music, Video, Books, Daxar: Conduct sales of video and music products at the Region level by collecting the stores orders, forwarding them to the Product Manager, and coordinating the shipment of products to stores
  • Specific for Music, Video, Books, Daxar: Organize and coordinate purchasing archives by entering purchasing information on the system and sending requests to suppliers



Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical degree (TS)

ProĮciency in MS Oĸce, Elvis is a plus
