The IT Governance Analyst will help develop and maintain IT governance processes, making sure PMU’s IT practices meet standards, reduce risks, and support the university's goals
Job Purpose

The IT Governance Analyst plays a critical role in supporting IT governance activities and ensuring compliance with PMU’s policies, standards, and procedures. This position will help monitor and analyze governance metrics, coordinate vendor assessments, assist in IT audits, and support the implementation of governance processes in line with PMU’s strategic goals
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating, updating, and enforcing IT governance policies, standards, and procedures in line with international best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments.
  • Conduct IT risk assessments and maintain a risk register to proactively identify, document, and address potential security and operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international data protection regulations.
  • Support audit activities by preparing documentation and working closely with internal and external auditors to maintain compliance with academic and governmental standards.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to understand their IT needs and integrate them into governance frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain governance dashboards, providing regular updates and insights to university leadership for effective decision-making.
  • Oversee vendor management by conducting vendor risk assessments, ensuring compliance with service level agreements, and managing vendor-related IT risks.
  • Participate in change management processes to ensure that all IT changes align with governance policies and are documented accurately.
  • Coordinate business continuity and disaster recovery planning efforts, testing and refining plans to support uninterrupted university operations.
  • Ensure data governance best practices are followed across the university, safeguarding data integrity, security, and privacy.
  • Regularly report on IT governance metrics, including risk profiles, audit outcomes, and policy compliance, to university leadership.
  • Provide guidance to staff and faculty on IT governance protocols and conduct training sessions to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Monitor IT governance developments to recommend improvements and ensure alignment with regulatory changes.
  • Foster a collaborative environment across university departments to align IT strategies with academic and administrative goals.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)

  • A bachelor’s or Master’s degree related to the position or equivalent.
  • At least 2-5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Previous experience in this position highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in team-based, collaborative settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Suitable candidates are expected to have excellent command of the English Language and should be familiar with technology infused academic environments.
