The Web Center System Analyst role within PMU’s IT department supports these objectives by designing, implementing, and maintaining user-centric web applications and systems that enhance the university's online presence and align with its brand and operational goals.

Job Purpose

The Web Center System Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and maintaining web systems and applications to support PMU’s online presence and operational needs. This role ensures the delivery of functional, user-friendly, and reliable web solutions by collaborating with various departments, identifying system requirements, and implementing enhancements that align with the university’s strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Major Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to investigate and document user and system requirements for web-based applications.
  • Evaluate current web systems to identify areas for improvement, ensuring alignment with the PMU’s objectives.
  • Define technical requirements, data flows, and user interaction points to enhance system functionality.
  • Assist in the development and integration of web applications, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and standards.
  • Work closely with developers to implement features and enhancements based on gathered requirements.
  • Support front-end and back-end development efforts using languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ASP.NET.
  • Develop and execute testing procedures to identify and resolve technical issues within web systems.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to verify that web applications function as expected across different platforms and devices.
  • Ensure all web applications meet performance, security, and usability standards.
  • Assist the Web Manager in coordinating web development projects, setting timelines, and monitoring progress.
  • Document all system modifications, workflows, and configurations for future reference and easy maintenance.
  • Create and maintain user guides and system manuals to support end-users and technical staff.
  • Provide ongoing support for web application users, troubleshooting issues and addressing inquiries.
  • Conduct training sessions for non-technical staff, assisting them in using web systems effectively.
  • Gather and assess user feedback to continually improve system usability and functionality.
  • Regularly monitor web system performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to optimize load times, security, and user experience.

Qualifications & Experience (Required)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, directly related to the duties specified.
  • Previous experience in a web system analyst or similar position is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in team-based, collaborative settings.
  • Willingness to take initiative and work independently when required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with familiarity in technology-infused academic environments preferred.
