The Division:
Cultura Technologies, a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc., provides comprehensive, proven software solutions for agribusinesses to simplify data management, streamline processes, and improve business analysis and decision-making.
The Position:
We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Senior Visual Basic (VB) Developer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VB programming, a passion for solving complex problems, and a track record of delivering high-quality software solutions. This role involves working on various projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that applications are robust, efficient, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Visual Basic (VB) in both desktop and web-based environments.
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues in existing applications, providing quick and effective solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality standards in the development process.
• Lead and mentor junior developers, providing guidance on coding practices and career development.
• Integrate third-party APIs, databases, and other external systems into the applications.
• Optimize application performance and ensure the smooth operation of the system.
• Stay updated with industry trends and new technologies, and apply them to improve software development processes.
• Participate in the planning and design of new features, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior VB Developer or similar role with at least 6+ years of experience in Visual Basic programming.
• Strong knowledge of VB.NET, Visual Basic 6, and other related technologies.
• Proficiency in working with databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle) and writing complex queries.
• Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve performance issues.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with web technologies such as ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Exposure to modern software development frameworks and tools.
