Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic advising to students regarding course selection, degree requirements, and academic planning.
• Monitor student academic progress and intervene when necessary to offer support or resources.
• Assist students in understanding academic policies, procedures, and deadlines.
• Help students set realistic academic and career goals based on assessments and discussions.
• Coordinate with faculty and administrative departments to support students with academic difficulties.
• Organize and conduct workshops or seminars on academic skills such as time management, study strategies, and goal setting.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with institutional and legal guidelines.
• Refer students to additional institutional resources such as tutoring centers, mental health counselors, or financial aid offices as appropriate.
• Assist in the development and implementation of retention strategies.
• Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes, new programs, and educational technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising or student services.
• Knowledge of academic policies, student development theory, and educational planning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse environment.
• Proficiency in student information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with educational advising platforms (e.g., Ellucian, Banner, or Starfish).
• Certification in counseling or advising (optional but beneficial).
• Multilingual abilities are a plus.
