Job Purpose:
- Indirect/direct buyer in Materials Planning department of LSA for given material groups to ensure materials are purchased and received on time as per production schedule
- Be a key player in strategic process transformation in materials and demand planning management.
- Be accountable in running MRP to achieve overall production levels as per parameters & factory load.
Key Accountabilities:
Description of the Accountability
1. Direct / Indirect Purchaser of material required for scheduled production as per Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning.
2. Be accountable and responsible to run MRP in Microsoft AX system for all aspects of material planning (MRP) requirements.
3. Coordinate with departments heads for material planning
4. Ensuring all rules and processes are adhered properly and process standardization is in place.
5. Develop competence in usage of ERP system (AX) in the Materials Planning and update the master data, also do maintenance like inventory policy, supplied code, supplier price list etc. Workout, updating and maintain proper safety stock. Evaluate and review its inventory impact.
6. Be part of the team for internal & external lSO quality audits in Material Planning department.
7. Provide support with expediting materials deliveries as per production schedule,
8. Update the MRP parameters in AX, maintain safety stock level as per factory load.
Job Context
The position is responsible to:
1. Material availability for production as per SIOP plan & weekly Plan.
2. Manage material availability with minimum stock loss, optimum safety level stock and contribute to maintain highest accuracy in terms of material availability to production (Higher than 99,2%)
3. Maintenance of system data and parameters related to MRP.
4. Overall efficiency of operation regarding the material costs and lead time as per the yearly target
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge: -
Graduate Bachelor’s degree in preferably Supply Chain, Logistics Management, however engineering degree with Supply Chain Professional certificate is acceptable.
- Bachelors of Engineering Degree – In Electrical or Mechanical
Minimum Experience:
- More than 3 years’ experience in Direct/Indirect Purchase department in a manufacturing company, (experience in Supply chain in a reputed organization, preferably switchgear industry will be added as advantage).
Job-Specific Skills:
- Excellent negotiation & persuasive skills with high level technical knowledge in overall electrical materials and suppliers in the region and abroad.
- Experience in vendor development and resourcing supplies.
- Experience of working with suppliers across the world.
- Self-starter and takes initiative for additional responsibilities and challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Data orientated and logical thinking are key attributes required in the candidate.
- Impeccable integrity is a must.
- Hands on experience in reputed ERP packages (experience in Microsoft AX will be added advantage).
- Good communication skills.
- Experience in Middle East market will be added advantage.
