Job Title: Accounting Manager

Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations within the organization, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and compliance with Qatari regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS). This role will involve managing a team of accountants and collaborating with various departments to streamline financial operations, mitigate risks, and drive financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
• Manage the reconciliation of bank statements, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
• Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff, including conducting performance evaluations.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and financial forecasting.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and analysis to senior management.
• Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process, ensuring all financial documents are in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws and filing requirements, including VAT, Zakat, and other local levies.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal controls, accounting systems, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management to support business decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and operations, to ensure alignment on financial objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably within the GCC region.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax laws (including VAT and Zakat), and financial regulations in Qatar.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic (preferred, but not required).
