Job Title:
Senior Procurement Engineer (Buyer Engineer)
Job Summary:
The Senior Procurement Engineer (Buyer Engineer) is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process of marine equipment, spare parts, and services for vessels and offshore operations. The role ensures timely sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of technical and non-technical goods while maintaining compliance with company policies and marine industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze purchase requisitions for marine-related items such as ship spares, equipment, safety gear, and dockyard services.
Source qualified suppliers and service providers locally and internationally, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
Evaluate supplier performance and conduct negotiations to secure favorable pricing, delivery schedules, and terms.
Coordinate closely with the technical, engineering, and fleet departments to understand specifications and quality requirements.
Manage RFQs, bids, and tenders; analyze bids and prepare comparison sheets for technical and commercial evaluation.
Follow up on order confirmations, delivery schedules, and shipping documentation.
Ensure compliance with Aramco, classification society, and marine procurement standards.
Maintain up-to-date procurement records in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
Prepare procurement reports, track KPIs, and support internal and external audits.
Assist in the development of long-term agreements with vendors and service providers.
Support in developing procurement strategies to reduce costs and improve supplier performance.
Preferred Certifications:
CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or similar certifications.
Aramco procurement system experience (if applicable).
Skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5–8 years of procurement experience in the marine or offshore industry.
Knowledge of shipboard systems, marine spare parts, and vendor networks.
Familiarity with international shipping regulations and Incoterms.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office tools.
Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
Saudi experience or prior Big project exposure is highly preferred.

Degree in marine engineering, engineering science or equivalent
