
Job Title: Data Integration Developer
Location: Remote - Sacremento, CA
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Data Integration Developer to support a large-scale data analytics and business intelligence (BI) transformation project for a public sector organization based in Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in ETL development, data warehousing, and BI platform modernization using Oracle Data Integrator and related technologies.
Responsibilities:
Deliverable 1: Data Integration & BI Solution Development
Design, develop, and maintain specialized software to support data analytics and business intelligence (BI) solutions.
Build and optimize dimensional data models (e.g., star schemas) and ETL pipelines using Oracle Data Integrator.
Conduct testing and validation to ensure data accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
Support and enhance operational data stores and enterprise data warehouses.
Troubleshoot and resolve ETL job failures (supporting 3,000+ ETL processes).
Develop self-service data marts and integrate with analytic dashboards.
Deliverable 2: BI Platform Modernization & Automation
Modernize the existing BI platform and integrate DevOps practices into the analytics lifecycle.
Architect reusable frameworks for automation and task orchestration.
Develop Java-based connectors and Groovy scripts to integrate cloud and on-premise data sources.
Create proof-of-concept solutions for improved data integration processes and evaluate modern data warehousing tools.
Establish CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring systems.
Deliverable 3: Knowledge Transfer
Ensure continuous documentation of development processes, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
Participate in regular knowledge transfer sessions with internal stakeholders.
Maintain detailed records in shared repositories, including test cases, incident reports, and project status updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in ETL development and data integration for data warehouses or marts.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Database 19c or similar tools.
Proven success on at least two Business Intelligence/Analytics projects, including one with a budget over $1 million.
Experience working in domains such as Pension, Health Insurance, Customer Service, or Finance.
Expertise in PL/SQL, SQL, and complex data modeling for analytic solutions.
Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, BI best practices, and DevOps methodologies.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
Exposure to public sector or large-scale enterprise data systems.
Familiarity with hybrid data environments, cloud integrations, and BI modernization strategies.
Java and Groovy programming for custom integration and automation.
