Payroll Analyst

Job Description
As a Payroller, you’ll be responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. You’ll manage all aspects of payroll processing, stay compliant with HMRC regulations, and provide support on payroll-related queries. Precision, discretion, and a solid understanding of UK payroll legislation are key.
Key Responsibilities: Process end-to-end payroll on a monthly basis for all employees
Ensure compliance with HMRC rules, including RTI submissions and pension auto-enrolment
Calculate PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
Handle starters, leavers, and changes to contracts/salaries
Maintain accurate payroll records and update the payroll system accordingly
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
Liaise With HMRC And Other Third Parties When Required
Generate P45s, P60s, payslips, and other payroll documentation
Assist with year-end payroll procedures
Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practice
Key Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a payroll position (in-house or bureau)
Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
Familiarity with payroll software (e.g. Sage, Xero, BrightPay, ADP)
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information
Good communication and problem-solving skills

- Maintain accurate financial records (bookkeeping) utilizing a variety of software platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, VT, Sage 50, Freeagent, Clear Books and Excel.
- Prepare financial statements including necessary disclosures as per FRS-105 and FRS-102 standards.
- Calculate Corporation Tax in compliance with UK tax legislation.
- Draft correspondence letters and other essential documents.
- File financial statements and corporation tax returns with both Company’s House and HMRC.
- Compile VAT returns adhering to UK VAT regulations.
- Complete individual personal income tax returns in accordance with UK tax legislation would be a desirable extra.
- Maintain monthly payroll records utilizing Sage 50 payroll software, would be advantageous.
