Job Summary:
GluCare Integrated Diabetes Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Junior Phlebotomist to join our multidisciplinary team. The Phlebotomist will play a critical role in supporting patient diagnostics by performing high-quality blood sample collection while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality. This position is central to GluCare’s integrated care model, which combines technology, real-time diagnostics, and personalized patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with accuracy and adherence to best practices.
- Greet patients, verify identity, explain procedures, and provide a calm and reassuring environment for sample collection.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of specimens in accordance with lab protocols and DHA regulations.
- Prepare specimens for transport to external labs or in-house testing areas, maintaining cold chain and biohazard safety standards.
- Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and ensure cleanliness and readiness of sample collection areas.
- Adhere strictly to infection control and safety procedures, including use of PPE and proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Collaborate with nurses, laboratory personnel, and physicians to support diagnostic workflows and efficient patient management.
- Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for order verification and specimen tracking.
- Report any adverse patient reactions or complications to the appropriate clinical lead immediately.
- Participate in internal audits, quality assurance processes, and ongoing training.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
- DHA License or Eligibility Letter as a Phlebotomist (mandatory).
- Diploma or certification in Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory Science, or related healthcare field.
- Experience as a phlebotomist in a clinical or hospital setting - a plus
- Proven expertise in blood collection techniques across age groups (including pediatrics is a plus).
- Strong understanding of biosafety, hygiene, and patient privacy standards.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to put patients at ease.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and digital workflows is preferred.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, patient-centric environment.
