Position: Product Development Specialist [Upholstery Furniture]

Role :
The Product Development Specialist will act as the critical link between Abyat’s production, sourcing, and commercial teams. This role is responsible for transforming market insights into innovative, commercially viable products while ensuring alignment with Abyat’s quality, design, and cost standards. The specialist will lead the end-to-end product development process, ensuring seamless execution from ideation to final production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze market trends to identify opportunities for new products or improvements.
- Translate market needs into clear, actionable product briefs with complete technical specifications.
- Collaborate closely with Abyat’s manufacturer teams to guide products through all development stages — from concept, design, prototyping to final production.
- Ensure all products meet Abyat’s standards for quality, comfort, design, and cost-efficiency.
- Align product timelines with business needs and coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to meet development milestones.
- Coordinate with sourcing and supply chain teams to ensure feasibility and cost targets are met.
- Support testing, sampling, and evaluation to ensure products meet performance expectations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product development, preferably in a retail or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle, manufacturing processes, and sourcing.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a good sense of design, functionality, and market relevance.
- Experience in home improvement or furnishing industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in product development tools and software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders under tight deadlines.
