Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE

As a Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for community growth, both online and offline, as well as creating action plans to increase the company's presence in the community. This role is critical in building and nurturing relationships with the company's target audience, customers, and stakeholders.

This role requires a combination of social media expertise, communication skills, event planning, and a deep understanding of the company's target audience and community dynamics. They should also be adept at analyzing data to refine strategies and continually adapt to the evolving needs of the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Online Community Growth:

1.Social Media Management: They can manage the company's social media accounts, creating and curating content, engaging with followers, and test & implement innovative, out of the box ideas to increase the online community's size and engagement.

2.Online Forums and Groups: They can participate in relevant online forums, groups, and communities where the company's audience hangs out, answering questions, providing value, and subtly promoting the company's products or services.

3.Content Creation: They can create content like SM/ community engagement posts, videos, webinars, or podcasts that address the community's interests and needs.

B. Offline Community Growth:

1.Local Events and Sponsorships: Plan, Identify, Organize, or participate in local events, workshops, seminars, and sponsorships that align with the company's goals and values.

2.Public Relations: Plan , Build and Manage local media relationships to secure coverage and press releases that highlight the company's community involvement.

3.Networking: Building relationships with local businesses, influencers, and community leaders to enhance the company's presence within the community.

4.Community Partnerships: Collaborating with local organizations and non-profits to support community initiatives and gain visibility.

C.Action Plans:

1.Strategic Planning: Developing comprehensive action plans that outline specific goals, strategies, and tactics to achieve community growth targets.

2.Data Analysis: Utilizing data analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of community engagement efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.

3.Feedback Collection: Actively seeking feedback from the community and incorporating it into action plans for continuous improvement.

4.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with other teams members within marketing and cross departments, such as sales, to ensure alignment and consistency in community engagement efforts.

6.Takes Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) lead in ensuring “safe systems of work” and “safe conditions” are in place within area of responsibility.

7.Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned by management.

3.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Educational Requirements / Qualifications:

Business or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualification.

Experience :

3-4 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or a related role.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and project management abilities.

Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in using social media platforms and community engagement tools.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
