Main Ingredients of the Job!
As a US FOODS® Dispatcher you will be responsible for coordinating driver activities to resolve service issues. The main objective is to verify that the customer's needs are met in a prompt and professional manner.
Schedule: Sunday – Thursday 4PM - 12:30AM
Pay Rate: $20-$22
Great Dispatchers are crucial to the US FOODS® team and one of the key members of our organization. Our Dispatchers strive for integrity and reliability, while building trusting relationships with team members.
What you bring to the table
- In the case of a vehicle accident or driver injury, the dispatcher must notify the manager/supervisor in charge and the safety specialist ASAP.
- Coordinate driver activities to minimize hours of service violations.
- Verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly.
- Assign backhauls as needed to be done in the most efficient manner possible.
- Coordinate trailer and tractor assignments.
- Communicate to the sales force and operations management if there are any concerns regarding service issues that may arise in the event of a late dispatch, breakdown or other service failure.
- Reassign routes as needed.
- Visually inspect each driver's appearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform and have required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Coordinate shuttle assignments to minimize downtime and overtime.
- Complete Attendance Reports.
- Distribute intercompany mail to sales force.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
What you bring to the table
Education/Training:
- High School Diploma/GED required
Related Experience/Requirements:
- Must have working knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and driver's logs.
- Must be organized and detailed; and have legible handwriting.
- Must be able to manage several things at once.
- Must have (2) years transportation experience

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $20.00 and $22.00 per hour. This role will also receive overtime compensation.
