
Position Title: Principal Quantity Engineer (For Omani only)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Quantity Engineer with 12+ years of progressive experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and project controls. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field and will be responsible for managing quantity take-offs, cost planning, contract administration, and ensuring commercial success across complex, large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, plans, and specifications for civil, structural, MEP, and architectural works.
- Oversee and validate BOQs, cost estimates, and tender documentation.
- Manage and monitor project budgets, costs, and expenditure throughout the lifecycle.
- Evaluate contractor claims, variations, and change orders; provide recommendations to management.
- Work closely with procurement and planning teams to ensure alignment on material requirements and scheduling.
- Support contract administration, including interim valuations, final accounts, and contract close-out.
- Provide commercial risk analysis and advise project leadership on cost-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
- Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and engineers in the team.
- Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, preferably in large-scale infrastructure, buildings, or oil & gas projects.
- Strong understanding of FIDIC and/or other standard contract forms.
- Proficiency in QS software such as Candy, CostX, MS Excel, and ERP tools.
- Sound knowledge of construction techniques, project phases, and cost control principles.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong team leadership and client interface experience.
