Scope of Responsibility:

The scope of the S&OP Manager includes driving the Sales, Inventory and operational process throughout the organization while ensuring Project Management Group's integrity. The position is responsible for continual evaluation of the S&OP process for budgeting, forecasting & planning with a focus on plant and vendor scheduling mix as wells as Inventory levels for optimization.


Core, Leadership, & Functional Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of telecom industry, steel, warehouse and inventory experience. (Maybe put telecom industry as preferred?)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong understand of engineering, drafting, manufacturing, and inventory, Purchasing and shipping procedures.
  • Ability to drive organization to be industry leaders in inventory levels, job scheduling, project management, quality systems, and current trends and issues in the telecommunications market.
  • Ability to work with and lead others effectively as well as working independently on specific projects.
  • Strong general office tools skills, i.e. MS Project, MS Outlook, EXCEL and EPICOR preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings/blueprints.
  • Sensitivity to the nuances of cultural differences and the ability to help others with those differences.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and co-ordinate interdepartmental resources to ensure projects are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the way in implementation of SI&OP platform. Create and use tools that provides end-to-end visibility to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply a holistic end-to-end mindset across the entire value chain with understanding of both demand and supply side.
  • Provide input and support to set the strategic vision and sales projections to Supply Management and Demand Management. Convert the strategic vision into operations projects linked to our strategic plan.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining reports and various schedules (i.e. monthly invoicing, inventory levels, major project activity, and daily job report).
  • Continuously improve procedures and practices within the department and organization.
  • Measuring and monitoring plant and vendor capacity and determining optimal mix of make vs buy and which vendors to use for various products
  • Maintain an environment of continuous improvement. Continually evaluate & monitor the changing business environment and change current processes as necessary to-effectively service the customer.
  • Synchronize and document administrative aspects of project files, customer schedules, internal schedules, change orders, IR’s and RFC’s.
  • Work closely with all departments to improve internal communications.
  • Teamwork within the department and with other groups.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related area of study is required. Graduate level experience is a plus.Prior experience in the Telecom and/or warehouse industry highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience directly related to SI&OP or integrated business planning. Experience in material and inventory management required.
  • Experience developing and implementing an SI&OP process in a manufacturing environment required.
