The Digital Product team at DoMyOwn drives the innovation, quality, and performance of our eCommerce site, APIs, and applications that power the digital shopping experience for our customers. We have an opening for an experienced eCommerce Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our Digital Product team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our ecommerce site, APIs, and applications. You will work closely with software engineers and business stakeholders to develop, execute, and maintain test strategies that guarantee a seamless user experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Test Planning and Design:
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for eCommerce site, APIs, and applications.
- Collaborate with the Digital Product team and other business stakeholders to understand requirements and define testing strategies.
- Design test scenarios for functional, integration, performance, security, and usability testing.
2. Manual and Automated Testing:
- Conduct manual testing for complex user scenarios, UI/UX, and edge cases on the eCommerce site and applications.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and backend services using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance.
3. API Testing:
- Test RESTful APIs and microservices for functionality, performance, and security.
- Use tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar for API testing.
- Validate API responses, request flows, and error handling.
4. Defect Management:
- Identify, document, and track defects using a bug-tracking tool (e.g., JIRA).
- Collaborate with software engineers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Provide clear, detailed, and reproducible bug reports.
5. Performance and Security Testing:
- Conduct performance testing to ensure the eCommerce site and APIs can handle high traffic and peak loads.
- Collaborate with security teams to perform security testing and identify vulnerabilities (OWASP standards).
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Regularly review and update test cases to align with product changes, new features, and best practices.
- Lead test automation initiatives to increase test coverage.
- Work with the Digital Product Team to improve QA processes and ensure best practices.
7. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with business stakeholders and engineers to clarify requirements and provide feedback.
- Participate in meetings (stand-ups, planning, retrospectives) to ensure alignment on testing objectives.
- Communicate test results, quality metrics, and defect status to stakeholders.

- Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
- Test Automation Tools: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium
- API Testing Tools: Postman, REST Assured
- Performance Testing Tools: JMeter, Gatling
- Security Testing Tools: OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite
- CI/CD Tools: ChipperCI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps
- Version Control: Git
- Bug Tracking and Test Management: JIRA, TestRail.
- Cloud Platforms (Preferred): AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance for web applications, APIs, and digital products.
- Strong experience with manual and automated testing for web applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Proficiency in test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium).
- Experience with API testing and automation using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test case design, and defect tracking.
- Familiarity with software development and testing in various development environments.
Skills:

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in eCommerce application testing
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of security testing and vulnerability assessment (OWASP)
- ISTQB Certification or equivalent
Location:
This position is remote and can be located anywhere within the continental United States. DoMyOwn is located in the northeast Atlanta, GA metro area (Lawrenceville, GA) with Eastern Time Zone hours. Preference will be given to those living in the Atlanta metro area with a willingness to come to the Lawrenceville office on occasion.

- Annual compensation starting at $66,000/year.
