Responsibilities:
- Routinely performs basic through advanced GC data analysis and reviews.
- Performs EI spectral interpretation and GC-MS/FID and HS-GC-MS/FID ID reviews.
- Performs structural elucidation of unknown compounds through spectral interpretation of high resolution accurate mass (HRAM) data.
- Verifies deliverables are performed, documented, and completed according to customer expectations and quality system requirements.
- Provides technical leadership, promotes growth and development within the GC Team and greater Element E&L organization.
- Conducts investigations for failures/deviations/out of spec results.
- Drafts new procedures and revises existing procedures.
- Serves as a specialist on complex technical and business matters in partnership with operations.
- Actively promotes continuous improvement and E&L continuing education.
- PhD in Chemistry or related field.
- 6+ years experience in an analytical setting.
- Prior work experience in an analytical technique (GC-MS/LC-MS) required. cGMP experience preferred.
